Enduro Track: Parnis Tracks
on the Top of Mountain

Text Box: “Parnis” name is associated to ancient Greek expression for “Big Mountain” The 20,000 hectares, Parnitha National Park, commands particular ecological interest, and can constitute a reserve for the protection and preservation of Southern Greece’s flora and fauna. The area constitutes the nucleus of the Parnitha National Park and spans over the highest parts of Mt Parnitha. It is a wooded area designated as a National Park since 1961. The mountain top itinerary starts at the location of Ag.Triada. From there a ring-shaped road (tarmac) is surrounding the mountain top. There are two refugee camps (Bafi and Flabouri), one large Casino-Hotel (Hayatt Mont Parnes) and a number of small churches (Ag.Petros, Ag.Georgios).
